🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Voice Displeasure About Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Updates Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
